Rahotep and Nofret

DESCRIPTION
This is one of the most famous masterpieces of the Egyptian Museum, the two seated statues or Prince Rahotep and Princess Nofret.
Rahotep is wearing a short wig, a moustache and wears a heart-shaped amulet around his neck and the usual short white kilt. His right arm is bent across his chest and his left hand is on his knee. At the back of his seat are six columns of hieroglyphs giving his titles and name.
Nofret wears a long white dress with two straps, and a necklace with pendants, and a heavy wig, while her own hair comes down over her forehead. At the back of her seat are two columns of hieroglyphs giving her name and title.
Anyone who looks at her will fall in love with her!!
We will show the translations of the hieroglyhs later.
Rahotep has dark brown skin, while Nofret has light yellow skin which is the usual way to show male and female figures.
The two statues have inlaid eyes. The white of the eyes is made of opaque quartz, the cornea from transparent rock crystal and the pupil from black paste.
They are of life size and very well preserved. When the workmen first set eyes on them with their dim lamps, their life-like appearance caused them to run away in terror.
Some tour guides tell their groups that they are Omar Sharif and Sophia Loren!!
